The Lighthouse Ball oil lamp is part of an attractive range of oil lamps that were apparently inspired by stories of Scandinavian sea voyages, in which every island and every point has its lighthouse to show the way in the night.
This may indeed prove beneficial for navigating your way back into the house following an evening in the garden with friends and a couple of large glasses of Châteauneuf-du-Pape.
Menu's Lighthouse oil lamps are all supplied with a newly developed oil burner to really light-up the night. 'This oil lamp doesn't burn with just a little flame, it burns like a fantastic bonfire!' exclaims the designer Christian Bjørn. He has also developed a unique system to allow filling the oil from above, so there is no need to take the lamp apart.
The designer may have a slightly concerning desire for pyrotechnics, but it is clear that the Lighthouse oil lamp range is very desirable and can be used outdoors all year round.
